So now that the Holidays are over and we are back to the grind..

I am going to do my best to finish this book! I mean.. I bought it the day it came out.

I have read the first two in the series. I have started this one...

But I have just not had the time to sit with it. It has been busy. We have been out of town

almost every other weekend.

The Christmas decorations are put away. We returned last night from our final trip for awhile I hope.

We are all dragging boooTay today. Got home late and crashed.. Didn't even unload the car

until this morning. Heck... we all went to bed with yuck-mouths last night... (shhh!...Don't tell anyone)

Can you say exhausted?

I have every intention of taking a minimum of at least 30 minutes today to read.

And.. read under my favorite quilt I have had since I was about 7 or 8 years old. :)

I love Raggedy Ann and Andy.

I do hope that your Holidays were magical and filled with love and laughter.

oh and p.s. I have decided to try the 365 pictures this year. I know. I know... It's 01.05

But I have been taking pictures everyday. And I will post them today. I may even put them

 on another blog. I will link it here when I do and you can bookmark it and check it too..

• I am looking forward to the parade tomorrow morning.
• I always love watching Pop goes the 4th on the 4th of July.
• Matt is not running the Peachtree Road Race tomorrow for the first time in 7 or 8 years.
• I am wondering why I have a mosquito in my office?
• I got a hug and an I Love You from both my minions.
• As much as I love a good color photo.. my heart will always belong to B&W.
• I went to see Eclipse three days ago.. I can't stop thinking about it.
• I want to go again.
• Stumped about dinner tonight.
• So glad that Matt-Daddy is off the next two days..even if he is on-call
• Been doing some soul searching lately.
• It's a good thing.
• Will never own another Ford.. Even if it is given to me.
• Should have learned my lesson the first time.
• Tomorrow is the Fourth of July.
• Summer is half over. Bleck...
• I am listening to Stormy sing behind me at her desk. :)

So the sun will rise on another day..

It will be filled with the mundane and hopefully the exciting.

And it shall also set... Good Lord willing.

And I will have another list rolling around in my head to accomplish :)

Just a Day in the Life.....

This is kind of a day in the life...

I jumps from the morning to the evening. The kids were at school and I didn't shoot anything during the day.... so here it goes.

Oh Mary..... I am back....

I am back. I have been with out a pc for a month now. I have a new one as of last night. I have been released! I was able to check mail about once a week at the library... It was S-L-A-Y-I-N-G me under the rug. I miss having access. I am addicted and would never make it on a deserted island.....
I hope that everyone is well and has had a great Valentine's Day, Inauguration,Ground Hog Day, My Sister and husband both had great birthdays.... and everything else I missed.... Including the Octo Mom? Wow... That is a story... Lifetime could not have witten a better version... you think?.....
Word.

Anyway, I missed you all and I hope that everyone is well. I will post pictures as soon as I find my camera software.. and figure out how to do it on this pc.

Just a little rambling.... just a little


Yesterday was the last race of the 08 season in Nascar. Jimmy Johnson won the championship for the third year in a row. Only the second person to ever to do it. But it was Tony Stewart's last race with Home Depot. He will be racing for his own team next year sponsored by Office Depot. He is my fav and S's too. So I will have to teach him Office Depot instead of Home Depot.

This movie is headed to the big screen. It will be awesome and I really am excited about it. I know that Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his role as Iron Man.

Now then, the best thing for me? This movie premieres on Friday November 21. I have read all four of the books in the series.... twice. And yes, I already have my ticket for the movie on Friday. I bought it over a week ago actually. I will be in the 10:45 a.m. showing.WooHoo! I am so excited!

My new show find is the "Legend of the Seeker". It is very good. It has been on for three weeks and each week it is still as good as the last one. One other thing about it, is that a couple of the actors that we have seen so far are actors that we know from a couple of different Power Rangers series. And around here that holds a LOT of weight. Believe me....

So how is every one's week going so far? It will be busy around here. It seems the the week and a half or so before Thanksgiving is always the busiest. We have early release day, Thanksgiving lunch at school with both kiddies, Thanksgiving dinner another night at school, Dentist appointment for me UGH.... so would rather be anywhere else but there..... anywhere. And don't forget work too. Then my movie on Fridaaaaaay!!! *smiling ear to ear*.

For Real......... Thursday already?

Wow.... the weather? It is a changing people.... finally. The wind is really blowing today. Just whipping around. I have some windows open. It is my favorite time of the year. The rain is coming tomorrow. It is going to be in the low 50's and I am so ready for it. It is nice to have Fall weather..... In Fall.... Hello?

This week had been a bit busy. Monday S was still a bit under the weather, so he stayed home with me. This is what he did over the weekend every time he had a coughing spell.. *good times*.

Bless his heart. After a while we didn't have to tell him. He pointed to it when he would start coughing. He knew the difference it would make when he had a treatment.

Tuesday was check up at the dentist for both of the kids. We were surprised. They both got out of there with NO..... yes no cavities. The Dr. said that K had a place that needed to be watched.... but I take that as a 'We don't have to come back for a filling' Woohoo! Then again, she lost three teeth in three days last week and had another one still coming in. So her odds of getting out of there with a clean record were better than average.. : )

Hope about that smile would ya ? ..... wow

My boys entertaining themselves while we wait to go back.

This weekend we have a birthday party to go to.... at a horse farm. I, personally, can't wait. There will be hayrides, horse rides, hot dogs and the trees should be about to peak. It will be great. I will have many-o-pictures come next week.

We got a new couch last weekend. The one we had was great...looked good. But, it just was not comfortable. And the family couldn't get on there together. Oh, and it was the worst nap taking couch .... Ever. (Thanks Pikes. We all *heart* you : )

I am still watching the DOW...Opening and Closing. Every. Day.... And we are still getting stung. Every. Day. I am over it..... and, Unfortunately. It is not. Over.

Tonight I am going to a survey for a research company. It is for Christian music and morning radio shows in the Atlanta area. I am excited. I love doing these.

We are hoping to hit a pumpkin patch this weekend too. Love, love those... the colors and the photo opps?? Love it : )

Oh Yea...... And it's my birthday on Monday...... I guess that that is a big deal too.. : )

I hope that everyone out there is well. Go do something nice for someone else today.

Just Chock Full of Randomness...


Sorry everyone. I have been LA-ZY about blogging. Getting back into the school routine and work routine. It has been work. And of course I have been spending quite a lot of time watching this and screaming at the television. Knowing the whole while that because I was screaming that it would help all the athletes win a gold! Ahem....


So I have been here.... just watching this....

I love our USA gymnasts. They are awesome. I feel like they got screwed

on the judging. And I am pretty confident that the Chinese girls

are not legal to drive in the United States. Humph...

But with all that said. It has been an amazing Olympics so far. NBC has done a great job. It has been a bit strange not to have Katie Couric in the morning doing all the fun stuff. But it has still been enjoyable.

I have had the chance to watch a movie or two in the last couple of weeks. The one pictured below was really good. It was really well done and the cast did an amazing job. The music.... ahhhh the music. I think I will have to get the soundtrack. The Beatles music .... Paul and John .. the words they wrote ... Well, it if you are a fan, you ought to take the time to watch it. I found it very enjoyable.

Well, I am off today. I have already been to the store and bought groceries. I have on my list today to make baked spaghetti , Asian slaw and homemade Peanut Butter cookies. Then hit carpool with 300,000 other cars... ugh. But then back home. And S?...... S is getting a haircut this evening... One of the Beatles called...... He wants his hair back..... geesh

So. how was every one's weekend? It was good here. Lots to ramble about today. Let's see. First, I joined a group online to help me learn more about digital scrapbooking. They were the most welcoming bunch I have been around in a long time. And I have already learned a lot.

I found out about this a while back but have not posted about it yet. I am so excited that this show is coming back to the air. Slated for January of '09 . I Love me some Electric Company.
I watched this when I was little. My loving movies the way I do. This was my introduction to Morgan Freeman. One THE best actors of our time. He started out on Public Television. As well as Rita Moreno and Joan Rivers of all people. Who knew? I remember them on The Electric Company.

Last weekend K went to her very first sleepover. She had a blast. I have to admit, it was a little weird her not being here. But she was just across the street. I think that made it a bit easier on both of us : ) Here she is just before he left...

OK, on one last note. My laptop is going to the hospital tomorrow. It needs a little bit of work done. I mean , right now I could be a joke in a "You Might be a Redneck if" book. I am working on my laptop and I have my big ol monitor hooked up to it, because the screen on the laptop is nothing but a shadow. Cute huh? (and the DVD burner isn't working) I am told, and very hopeful that, it will be well by Thursday or Friday... Saturday at the latest. So, I will not be online much. I will check email at my hubby's work. And am encouraged that I will not go into DT's without it. Gee.... I may have to read a book or cook a meal or Heavens....WRITE a letter? No, no, Say it ain't so?!?

I really am hoping for Thursday... fingers crossed

We're still here...

Still recuperating. Trying to keep the kiddos entertained, while M rests. He has been up and around. He is eating a good bit. You know, mashed potatoes, jello, eggs, milkshakes, popsicles, etc. But all in all he is really doing well.

On the other hand there is a problem uploading pictures from the camera to the pc. Geez... I'll swear it's always something :). The pc just won't prompt to add the pictures... You internets have any ideas?

Random Randomness...

Just a bunch of stuff swimming around up there. I need to let down the gates...

I do not usually enjoy watching golf. But, I did watch the last part of the last round of the Masters on Sunday. I really like Trevor Immelman. I am very glad that he won...therefore I found it very enjoyable.

I am sooo over the pollen. I am tired of sneezing, coughing, hacking, sniffling, red eyes, itchy eyes and generally feeling like crud. Go away already!

It is way cool that an easy to use version of Photo shop is available online now. Go here and take advantage of it. It is easy and fun.

It is six weeks till school is out! I can't believe it. We are already thinking and planning vacations! WooHoo!

It is one beautiful day here in the ATL. I hope that it is where you are too, and that you will be able to take advantage of it.

Have I told you one of my children can so entertain themselves and one cannot? One has to be entertained or have you with them all the time? Whew~ I have the one that prefers to do their own thing today. I will get way more accomplished.

I love to take pictures.... it just seems like I don't have enough time to do it. I think on those vacations this Summer? I will make time : )

How stinking high is gas? How stinking high are groceries? Unreal! Something has to be done.... SOON

Some days I'll swear... all I feel like I do is walk around behind my family and pick up after them.... ALL DAY LONG. Do you ever feel like that?

A former teacher passed away last week. She was a sweet soul. She sent me a precious book when my Father died twenty years ago. I have never forgotten it and still have the book. Bless her sweet soul....

We still LOVE our church. we really do. The kids look forward to going. Sometimes S is a little apprehensive. But, I think that is because he is with me more than not. But he does great once he is in there and can't stop talking about it after we pick him up. : )

Big wigs coming to visit my hubby's workplace today. He has worked harder and longer than usual this week. He is tired and I soo hope that it goes well for him.

I very much enjoyed the Bigest Loser this Season. It was really good. We didn't miss an episode. Everyone looked so good on the finale Tuesday night. WOW! Ali is awsome and I covet her determination. She is the first Woman to win!! You go Girl. I was pulling for Roger to win... You know hometown homie and all : )

Friends......

A girlfriend of mine posted on this subject just a few days ago on her blog. It seemed

a little ironic that the post was about a good friend coming in town to visit last weekend and how good it was to see her. When, the same wonderful thing happened to me : )

I will quote my friend H. here. I hope that she doesn't mind.

"I would say that I have different types of friendships in my life. I have my acquaintances, I have my 'friends', I have my close friends, and I have my heart friends. "

I try to be a good friend..... I try to remember birthdays. I try to stay in touch.... but,alas...it is not so easy. Life gets in the way. And you mean well and the card doesn't get sent when it should have been mailed or the phone call is not at the right time. Aughhh....

Anyway, one of my heart friends was in town last weekend. We have been friends since high school. She and I don't see each other very often at all. We haven't seen each other since our 20th reunion back in 05 (just told my age then.....shut up). Actually I am the youngest one in our class.... so there! If you sat and really thought about it.... we aren't really alike in most ways. She is blond and thin...I ...ahem ... am not. She is from up north originally I am not. She was a cheerleader.... ahem... I was not. She ran hurdles and relay on the track team...... Ha... I threw discuss and shotput! She got married before me... Her oldest child is 13, mine is 6.

She doesn't go back to hour home town...... hardly ever... My Mom still lives there. Oh yea......... she was Homecoming Queen...needless to say??? I was not..... : )

But........ the things that we do have in common are most definitely the greater in the equation...

1~ She and I each have a sons that are six months apart.

2~ When my son was born he had a couple of issues. My friend (who was a NICU nurse @ the time) was on the phone with my husband explaining to us what was going on and that it was going to be fine.... helping to put us at ease. (long distance too!)

3~ She was on the phone with me a couple of weeks ago when my daughter was having complications after her surgery, checking on her (and me).

4~ We make each other laugh.... Very important.

5~ We both share a love for photography and are learning together (although she is way ahead of me... I am running hard behind her and catching up!)

6~ When we talk on the phone or are together...it is if we have not been apart a day. I love that.

7~ We text each other a LOT (thank Heavens for Texting!) and try to email as often as we can.

8~ Some of my best memories are of times with her.

9~ Some of the best talks when I needed them the most are with her (whether she knows it or not).

10~And for the record..........? I just love that girl : )

You know, the Lord gives us friends like that... And I am so grateful that he blessed me with this one.

Our lives took different paths after our first year of college. She moved away and I was still in our hometown. I lost my Dad, and had to figure out my path whether I wanted to or not. She was in a new city and had to figure her path out too. We actually fell out of touch for several years. I got married. I actually found her and asked her to be a bridesmaid... she was very pregnant at the time and the wedding was far away. I didn't push it....(so she wouldn't have to either..haha)

Then enter the information highway... what a glorious thing! We found each other again and I haven't left her alone since!!! Bless her heart : )

Fast forward to last weekend... Her daughter had a soccer game here in Atlanta! We went to the game watched them win. I got to spend time with my friend. I got to play with her new camera (very important: ))

It was a beautiful day... The only thing that wasn't ok?.... It went by tooo fast. We have planned to get together again soon. When we can spend more time together.

Dragging Booty......

Whew~~

I'll swear..... This springing forward deal AL-ways gets the best of me. Anyway, how are all of you? Great I hope, and I also hope that you had a wonderful and productive weekend.

Around here was fun and the weather was great after the snow on Saturday morning. Doggone cold, but other than that ...beautiful.

We went to Build-a-bear as promised. And K was very happy with what she picked out.

"Peanut" has a new spring outfit. a pink top with rhinestones and a cute little denim skirt and pink flip flops with a rhinestone. Oh, and a new pink collar with rhinestones. Can you see a pattern going on here? That little doggie, would be her webkinz she got for Christmas that she named Shonda. She also got bows for both of them. I 'll tell you what.... she LOVES that Peanut.

S and his new Green PR (that turns into an elephant?) and his Bionicle.

Well, we couldn't very well get K something without getting S something. He is ALL about the Power Rangers right now. We play the game, we watch the show, he has PR pajamas. His favorite color is green so it makes perfect sense that he wanted the green Power Ranger. We found it at Target( one of my favorite stores on the planet). He loves, he sleeps with it, he takes a bath with it.

All is well here on Brentwood Drive....

Friday....... Finally

So, Friday is finally here.. Let's see... what does this Friday mean to me.

-- K finally went back to school today. She was looking forward to it.

-- It is my last day before I go back : (

-- My home is clean! Did all that yesterday (except the floors, do that today)

-- The weekend starts tomorrow.

-- Matt is off this weekend.

-- One more day till Sunday and we get to go to church ( we LOVE our church)

-- K has her post OP Dr. appointment.

-- The Sister of one of my Mom's longtime friends died suddenly Wednesday. Today is her service.

-- Sully and I get to spend the day together.

-- Tomorrow K gets to take some of her money that she got while she was sick and go to Build-A-Bear and get Peanut a new friend. She is syked.. Mom is too because she can go to Wolf Camera.

-- I will be able to play with Photoshop some today (hopefully with limited interuption)

-- This weekend is race weekend at ATL Motor Speedway.

-- It will be cooold in the morning with a chance of snow flurries. Br-r-r.

-- Oh yea... Don't forget to set your clocks forward on Saturday before you shut your sleepy eyes.

Wednesday.....

Hello... this week is taking for - ev- -errrrrr.

So, I am glad it is Wednesday.. Even happier that it one day closer to Friday. How is your week going? K. came home with a cold today. I knew it was coming...she sneezed all last evening. Bless her heart. (we say that a lot down here in the South) Bless her heart.... God Bless her.... God love her... It is just something you are required to say if you live down here.... I don't know why... it just is..... now stop asking....

Anyway, I get side tracked.. I actually made --well covered a notebook for myself to take to church. Often times I want to take notes or write down something witty that Andy says and of course I don't bring my purse in... or all I have to write on is a gum wrapper or the outside of my coffee cup, or my hand.... you know.. So, I thought I would make a cute, catchy, little matchy thing to go with my Bible......

Here is my Bible.... Yes, it is Orange..... Yes, I I bleed Orange and Blue. War Eagle Doggoneya!

And here is a a VERY, very cute little bookmark my very good friend Chauveen made me for Christmas.. It is wide Orange ribbon... It was very much appreciated. I know it was hard for her to commit to doing this project .... because you see.... she, is a rabid BAMA fan.... So far.... that is the only flaw I can find : ) Love you Chauveeners! : ) Love my Bookmark!

I looked through all my paper... trying to find something with Orange in it that was not too shocking. Afterall, I would be taking it to church.....but then again... it is my book and really I am the only one that should find it pleasing to the eye...right? : ) Anyway, here is what I came up with.... It is three different pieces of paper. I cut around the flowers on the more solid paper and adhered them to the polka dot paper. The bible verse is on a piece of vellum. This is the front.

It was very simple and I do like it very much. I also put paper on the inside covers and I think I am going to adhere some pictures in there too along with some more verses that I love. If you have any questions or need more details or pics on the construction please let me know. It is not time consuming but it is very fulfilling.... Gee Whiz....... Guesssss what I am having trouble with..... A-Gain?!?!? This silly computer..... From the ICE -AGE! No new pictures will upload. Not even one. Not happy, I'm not. That would be why there have been no new posts in the past few days. Oh, I have written them mind you. But there are all in draft land waiting to be published with all the other pieces of great literary work out there. Hummph!
