it all seems so menial...

When I think of the East Coast

especially the Jersey Shore and Staten Island..

I am sitting here in a warm place

in clean clothes

with a cold drink and

warm food

and electricity and all my 

'stuff'.

And most all..

my healthy family.

I've read that some feel it is the end of the world

after the election results last night

That they feel like they have lost everything

and nothing will be the same.

I think not

the Jersey shore

Staten Island and all 

the other places that were wiped out up there

 They...

They

lost everything 

and Their world will never be the same.

And now another storm is gearing up to dump

snow on the already battered region.

So.. no matter who won..

Or who wins in the future

As for me and my family

we will pray for them.

Like we always have.

So with that being said...

He licks and chews on his back and tail.
As it heals... it itches and the cycle continues.
He is about to drive me nuts.
We have been giving him Benedryl regularly..
But I am afraid....

Just a little rambling.... just a little


Yesterday was the last race of the 08 season in Nascar. Jimmy Johnson won the championship for the third year in a row. Only the second person to ever to do it. But it was Tony Stewart's last race with Home Depot. He will be racing for his own team next year sponsored by Office Depot. He is my fav and S's too. So I will have to teach him Office Depot instead of Home Depot.

This movie is headed to the big screen. It will be awesome and I really am excited about it. I know that Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his role as Iron Man.

Now then, the best thing for me? This movie premieres on Friday November 21. I have read all four of the books in the series.... twice. And yes, I already have my ticket for the movie on Friday. I bought it over a week ago actually. I will be in the 10:45 a.m. showing.WooHoo! I am so excited!

My new show find is the "Legend of the Seeker". It is very good. It has been on for three weeks and each week it is still as good as the last one. One other thing about it, is that a couple of the actors that we have seen so far are actors that we know from a couple of different Power Rangers series. And around here that holds a LOT of weight. Believe me....

So how is every one's week going so far? It will be busy around here. It seems the the week and a half or so before Thanksgiving is always the busiest. We have early release day, Thanksgiving lunch at school with both kiddies, Thanksgiving dinner another night at school, Dentist appointment for me UGH.... so would rather be anywhere else but there..... anywhere. And don't forget work too. Then my movie on Fridaaaaaay!!! *smiling ear to ear*.

A Random Post... or Renegade Post...

So how stinkin' happy was I Sunday when Tony 'Smoke' Stewart won at Talladega on Sunday?

Pretty stinkin' I tell ya.... : )

So, I guess S. can pretty much fall asleep anywhere, anytime.....

We love some Leap Pad around here.... He's Ratatouille in there at the moment.
And drawing.... where do I begin with the coloring and drawing.. she loves it. And I love that she loves it....

Randomness.... Lots of randomness...

I told you that we had a lot of rain last week... This was on top of the building when the kids were leaving for school Friday morning.. It is a heron. It is blurry because of distance and it was raining on me and my camera. But The kids and I thought it was way cool : )

Matt and K mugged for the camera after Matt's race on Labor Day. And below the kids

wanted him to have a trophy for running the race so they created all these for him when

got home.

This week K has decided that she wants to be a dress designer when she grows up. This week... She wrapped herself in an old curtain and actually did a good job. She also drew pictures of several different dresses and put them in a small notebook . I was impressed... they were all different and very nicely done. Who knows.... the next Donna Karan or Vera Wang?
Oh Yea, she lost another tooth and has another one that is loose.

Just Chock Full of Randomness...


Sorry everyone. I have been LA-ZY about blogging. Getting back into the school routine and work routine. It has been work. And of course I have been spending quite a lot of time watching this and screaming at the television. Knowing the whole while that because I was screaming that it would help all the athletes win a gold! Ahem....


So I have been here.... just watching this....

And this....... It made me smile too : )

And this.... This made me beam and want to stand up a little taller.

I love our USA gymnasts. They are awesome. I feel like they got screwed

on the judging. And I am pretty confident that the Chinese girls

are not legal to drive in the United States. Humph...

But with all that said. It has been an amazing Olympics so far. NBC has done a great job. It has been a bit strange not to have Katie Couric in the morning doing all the fun stuff. But it has still been enjoyable.

I have had the chance to watch a movie or two in the last couple of weeks. The one pictured below was really good. It was really well done and the cast did an amazing job. The music.... ahhhh the music. I think I will have to get the soundtrack. The Beatles music .... Paul and John .. the words they wrote ... Well, it if you are a fan, you ought to take the time to watch it. I found it very enjoyable.

Well, I am off today. I have already been to the store and bought groceries. I have on my list today to make baked spaghetti , Asian slaw and homemade Peanut Butter cookies. Then hit carpool with 300,000 other cars... ugh. But then back home. And S?...... S is getting a haircut this evening... One of the Beatles called...... He wants his hair back..... geesh

Month of Sundays.

Going to try to do a little catching up now.. So hang on..... : )

So here is the view coming in from the W on the way to our home. The kids wee asleep and I was bored so I got out the camera. Don't worry, the traffic was really as light as it looks... well for Atlanta at least...

We went around to a few yard sales a couple of weeks ago and lucked and found Sweet s. a new bike. He was in great need of some new wheels. This was a steal, and it has the type of tires that you don't have to air up. woohoo : )
This would be our two kids and K's best friend from school playing in the parking lot waiting for

the fireworks. Needless to say, we got there too early. Everyone was so tired by the time the show began. The kids had sidewalk chalk and cards and books but still got VERY restless.

They are drawing flags in this shot....well except for S. He, of course is doing one of his

famous Power Ranger moves..... of course.

Finally the show begins.

I seriously need to get a tripod..... seriously

and maybe a big boy camera....

Electric Tim or Tim Company... or something
That picture makes me forget..

So. how was every one's weekend? It was good here. Lots to ramble about today. Let's see. First, I joined a group online to help me learn more about digital scrapbooking. They were the most welcoming bunch I have been around in a long time. And I have already learned a lot.

I found out about this a while back but have not posted about it yet. I am so excited that this show is coming back to the air. Slated for January of '09 . I Love me some Electric Company.
I watched this when I was little. My loving movies the way I do. This was my introduction to Morgan Freeman. One THE best actors of our time. He started out on Public Television. As well as Rita Moreno and Joan Rivers of all people. Who knew? I remember them on The Electric Company.

Last weekend K went to her very first sleepover. She had a blast. I have to admit, it was a little weird her not being here. But she was just across the street. I think that made it a bit easier on both of us : ) Here she is just before he left...

I put this on here, Well, just because.... I mean, why not? Look at those biceps..... Have you ever? I can't explain... no need to... Just take a minute and look. Go ahead I will be here... looking too. Go on ...Go

OK, on one last note. My laptop is going to the hospital tomorrow. It needs a little bit of work done. I mean , right now I could be a joke in a "You Might be a Redneck if" book. I am working on my laptop and I have my big ol monitor hooked up to it, because the screen on the laptop is nothing but a shadow. Cute huh? (and the DVD burner isn't working) I am told, and very hopeful that, it will be well by Thursday or Friday... Saturday at the latest. So, I will not be online much. I will check email at my hubby's work. And am encouraged that I will not go into DT's without it. Gee.... I may have to read a book or cook a meal or Heavens....WRITE a letter? No, no, Say it ain't so?!?

I really am hoping for Thursday... fingers crossed

Friday Randomness...

Well, the Matt man went back to work today.... He didn't want to but it was time. In all actuality, he was glad to be there and called a few times and was busy, but in the longest sentence ever in time :) you could hear in his voice he was back in his element and not missing a beat and loving it too. Whew......

Next???

Ok. We, here at home are doing well. I started my little Summer gig....Gig? Anywho. I have two charges that I keep hearded in the corral a couple of days a week. They are two of the cutest little bits I have had the pleasure of working with. And their Mom? Well I just love her. We are both from Shamalama Ding-Dong. (AL for you who are out of the loop. But I'm sure Jenny caught that : )) So, that must be what it is..... I mean surely, what else would it be?

I figured out why I couldn't get the pics from the camera... well I didn't figure it out. It just started working.(YEA) So, I have oodles of pics to share. Here are only three. But I will be sharing many more.


Our annual Family reunion is this weekend. I will be in LA....no wait, don't get all excited, I am not going to see any celebrities or be an extra on the new "90120". I mean they would be lucky to haveme.... Surely..... UAhem..The LA would be "Lower Alabama" Not the one and only Los Angeles. It will be a hot one too. We will be on a river, so, much eating, much swimming and eating and maybe a bit more eating will be partaked in...Partaked in? is that a term? I guess if I can say Shamalama Ding-Dong.. I can say Partaked in.... because we all know I am grammatical genius and all. You knew that right?

One more thing.... the Summer TV schedule leaves oh so much to be desired.... So I decided to sign up for Blockbuster again. We got our first three movies yesterday. I have watched one and the kids have watched thier movie three times...yes three times. Those two would be...









Both very enjoyable movies. I really like Miss Potter. But than again, I would watch Ewan McGregor in anything I guess. And of course, Renee Zellweger was awesome as usual. The kids absolutely LOL laughed out Loud watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. I watched it today and it is really cute and harmless... A nice concept these days...

So, I will quit for now. But will be back soon.. so don't fret.
OH! I found one of THE funniest blogs I have ever read. I went back and read several months worth of posts and was crying with laughter. It really is a good read. Check it out when you get a chance.... or go now.... go on I'll wait....geeeez....

VERY, Random Pictures..........

It has been one crazy week around here...

The last week of school it always is. K had her awards ceremony on Tuesday. S and I had our end of year parties on Wednesday. M had his pre op appointment this morning. Tomorrow is the last day of school for K, S and myself. We (S and I) have an end of the year program tomorrow and then it is early release and all the teachers are being taken out to lunch. And all this time I have been trying to finish up 7 little scrapbooks for my boys and two teacher gifts.

Nah......... not much going on around here. : ) So, needless to say, there is an ever growing pile of laundry and a kitchen, bathroom and floors that are in desperate need of attention. That will just have to wait till next week......... : )
