Wednesday.....

Hello... this week is taking for - ev- -errrrrr.

So, I am glad it is Wednesday.. Even happier that it one day closer to Friday. How is your week going? K. came home with a cold today. I knew it was coming...she sneezed all last evening. Bless her heart. (we say that a lot down here in the South) Bless her heart.... God Bless her.... God love her... It is just something you are required to say if you live down here.... I don't know why... it just is..... now stop asking....

Anyway, I get side tracked.. I actually made --well covered a notebook for myself to take to church. Often times I want to take notes or write down something witty that Andy says and of course I don't bring my purse in... or all I have to write on is a gum wrapper or the outside of my coffee cup, or my hand.... you know.. So, I thought I would make a cute, catchy, little matchy thing to go with my Bible......

Here is my Bible.... Yes, it is Orange..... Yes, I I bleed Orange and Blue. War Eagle Doggoneya!

And here is a a VERY, very cute little bookmark my very good friend Chauveen made me for Christmas.. It is wide Orange ribbon... It was very much appreciated. I know it was hard for her to commit to doing this project .... because you see.... she, is a rabid BAMA fan.... So far.... that is the only flaw I can find : ) Love you Chauveeners! : ) Love my Bookmark!

I looked through all my paper... trying to find something with Orange in it that was not too shocking. Afterall, I would be taking it to church.....but then again... it is my book and really I am the only one that should find it pleasing to the eye...right? : ) Anyway, here is what I came up with.... It is three different pieces of paper. I cut around the flowers on the more solid paper and adhered them to the polka dot paper. The bible verse is on a piece of vellum. This is the front.

This is the back.

It was very simple and I do like it very much. I also put paper on the inside covers and I think I am going to adhere some pictures in there too along with some more verses that I love. If you have any questions or need more details or pics on the construction please let me know. It is not time consuming but it is very fulfilling.... Much like quick fix cheesecake or cookie dough out of the tube... Did I just say that out loud? Shut up.....

Oh yea, this is what K was creating while I was creating : ) Kind of a heart thingy with floppy ears?? I thought it was cute.....

Till Later Peeps...

Keep it between the ditches out there on that information highway....

More Stone Mountain Shots.......

My two favorite guys...

Trying to get the proverbial Christmas card shot with the landmark..
It never works does it?

Sully relaxing on a rock.

Kate on the obstacle course. She must have told me half a dozen times,
"Mom, I love this kind of stuff"!

Still working the course.

Weekend

Weekend
We went to Stone Mountain over the weekend for a work function.
The weather could not have been better. These are a few shots
from the day. We really enjoyed ourselves, especially the kids.

Sully telling me about something.

Kateleigh examining her acorns I'm sure.

Matt in deep conversation.

Matt and the kids and the famous Pumpkin tree.

"Junkin for Treasure"

The kids and I had a really fun day today while Dad was at work.
We decided to go "Junkin for Teasure". We played like we were hunting for treasure at each yard sale we went to. We found some neat stuff too.....

I am really loving this oval galvanized tub for my wallpaper scrap rolls. I have been looking for something to store them in in my craft corner. They were housed in my little trash can but I needed it for trash...DUH!
The lamp ($1) needs a coat of paint (white), and a lamp shade and it will be in great shape. The knitting looms? I guess they are.... It came in 4 different sizes. They have never been used ($2). There is a book and needles with it too. Looks like fun....
and of course the other little tub is orange, sio it was a must have for me!! I will put stamps or something in it. Now that I think about it maybe the right size for magazines.

The little stuffed jack'o lantern is in Sully's room. He liked it and found a special place for it.

I am not sure what the correct name for these bowls are but they are orange so I had to have them. I have another mug made out of the same type glass that has a handle on it that I found at an antique mall. Orange also.

We also found these two unfinished little bird houses the kids got for a quarter each. They decided to paint htem to go in Abbie's new kitchen window.

I think they did a fabulous job too! Nice work guys ; )

Finally....

Thanks to a friend in a scrapping group online that I belong to, I have finally figured out how to store my journaling pens so that I have full access to them whenever I need them. Thanks Holly! http://www.chroniclesofasouthernscrapper.blogspot.com/

It makes complete sense... A wine rack. When I saw Holly's I went to Goodwill and there was one that was perfect for me. I dropped a cool 4 bucks and it was mine all mine. I couldn't find some glasses or anything that I loved to use in so I came home and found some plastic glasses that we never use and I put them to use! Right now it seems a bit much on my little table but this weekend I am getting a new desk. Well new to me. My Mom has had it for years. Lot of history in it. I am so glad to have it. I will post a picture of it when it arrives from TN this weekend.

My other new thing is something my sweet hubby brought home this week.
It is a lantern that holds a candle. I just love it. The door opens and there are little stars etched on the glass. Here I have it on the patio sitting on a plant stand.
Till Later........

Mom's Book
Finally ....they FINALLY loaded for me.
Here are a few shots of the book I created for Mom. It was a simple composition book that I covered and created dividers so she would have sections. She loved it and I really enjoyed making it. it actually has three separate sections. It is a composition book that is stitched together so the pages are a bit stronger. I just used adhesive to apply the paper and sayings to each side and that made the dividers stronger.
The vellum phrase on the front is double matted with brads and says "A Place Of My Own". The edge is black and white gingham ribbon from Stampin Up. All the paper is from The Summer Stack that I got at Jo Ann's. The back cover is the same paper as the front. I also created a paper pocket inside the cover to be uses as needed.
