Two Times?

In one week? Just two days apart? It is hard to believe....
But. What. Do. You. Know.....

IT SNOWED

So all day Friday the forecast was "Between four and 6 a.m. the rain will turn into snow and it will fall till mid afternoon on Saturday. I was syked people I tell you, SYKED!!
I went to sleep Friday evening and I just knew we would wake up to white flakes falling from the heavens. And a soft palette of white on the ground. NOT. It was raining.. And it continued to rain until about 10:30. Finally it began to spit and sputter flakes. Of course the rain had soaked everything and nothing was sticking. Then it really began to snow and M. was able to come home early from work. We were dressed and ready to go out and play in the snow/slush.
This is a shot from our breezeway. We actually got over two inches in our area. And it snowed all day. Till about 7:00 p.m. LOVED IT! Now this morning it is17 degrees. But the wind was whipping all night and the roads for the most part in Atlanta were dry.

Don't worry about S.'s little hands. His Dad was inside getting his little gloves for him.

This was K.'s very first snowball. We even had a snowball fight. Although I threatened anyone who hit me with the camera in my hand. So, M. promptly kept hitting me on the hiney.. (not that it was a hard shot to miss) But Gee Whiz........

And this would be her first snowman as well. Kind of a Charlie Brown Snowman I guess. She actually took the snowball and rolled it across the ground like they do in the cartoons to make it bigger... That only works in technicolor I do believe. So, being the delicate flower that she is..After I took this shot, she took a running jump and stomped the snowman into snowman oblivion. Nice....... No picture of that..

One of the funniest things I have read of late is the post over at Boomama's blog about the graphics for the weather on the news in Alabama? It is on the January 18th post. It is a hoot! Being from AL..... it is so true...so true...

Today there are still remnents out there but the sun is shining through. It was nice while it was here.....

Hope all my peeps are enjoying this holiday weekend.

I've been thinking about you lately with this crazy weather. How absurd huh? We also got two "big snow storms". The first had accumulation but was layered with sleet & freezing rain on top so it was SO NOT "playable". Very disappointing!
Then yesterday our rain turned to snow about 2pm. It was pretty to watch it falling, but after so much rain, nothing accumulated even though it snowed for several hours into the night. Oh well! Crazy thing is that there is more in the forecast for this week.
Though I didn't get to play in our wintry weather at all, I can say this is the first time I've seen snow fall twice in one week. But what is up with temps in the teens. YUCK! If this doesn't improve, I'm moving to Florida.
