The Peachtree Jr.

Stormy ran her first road race on Saturday morning. She did great!
It was the Peachtree Jr. in Midtown at Piedmont park. Matt-Daddy runs the Peachtree
every year on the 4th of July, the largest 10K with over 60,000 runners.
The Jr. had a record of 2200 runners this year. Stormy
was finally old enough to run the Jr. (ages 7-12) and I'm not sure
who was more excited, her Dad or her! :) It was a cool, clear morning.
Perfect for
running. It is a 3K and she did it in under 29 minutes.
We are so proud of her.

The view from one side of the park looking at midtown.

Matt-Daddy and Stormy before the race.
Stormy waiting in the 7 yr.old corral before the race.
Crossing the finish line! The viewing hill where we waited for the runners to come out of the
corral at the end of the race.

Uncle Zach made it before Stormy finished. We were so glad that he
drove over. He stayed the whole day and visited. We love it when
Uncle Zach is here.

After getting up at daybreak and running a race.. The first thing she asked me
when she finished is if we could go to the playground
there before we left.. Geez.... If I could only bottle the energy...

Uncle Zach playing on the slide... He is actually sliding down :)

On the way back to the car.... And headed to IHOP for Brunch!!
